日本のおかし

This is my re-translation of a N5-graded reading passage from Marshall’s Site. My first attempt at translating this passage was in 2021.

1 year ago for the purpose of studying how to make sweets, Lee came to Japan.

Up until then, she was a store employee in Shanghai.

She thinks she wants to open her own Japanese sweets shop once she returns to Shanghai.

Re-translation Notes

  • I translated much faster this time, probably because I retained vocabulary knowledge, studied the grammar, and already knew of the material.
  • My first translation was an attempt at being more literal, I tried to localize and make things more fluid this time around.
